The {{NZ population data 2018}} template reference may need to be more detailed. It actually gets its data from editors copying from the "Subnational population estimates" spreadsheet found at , but it links to as its reference, presumably because that is considered easier for readers to understand than the spreadsheet, but the reference link does not directly contain the urban area population. The urban area population is in which is available from the reference link as "Subnational population estimates (urban rural)" at the bottom of the left side list of links.-gadfium 05:37, 28 May 2022 (UTC)
