Die 18de Oscar-toekenningsaand is op 7 Maart 1946 deur die Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in Los Angeles gehou om erkenning te gee aan die rolprente van 1945.
Dit was die eerste Oscar-aand ná die Tweede Wêreldoorlog en dit was dus ’n glansryker geleentheid as tydens die oorlog. Die gipsbeeldjies van die oorlogstyd is vervang deur bronsbeeldjies met verguldsel. Desondanks het die regisseur Billy Wilder se stroewe drama The Lost Weekend die meeste pryse ingepalm. Dit was die eerste prent wat die Oscar vir beste rolprent én die Palme d'Or gewen het.
