Christopher Storer (born 1981) is an American screenwriter, director, and producer. He became widely known as the creator, co-showrunner, writer, and director of the drama series The Bear (2022–present), for which he has won three Emmy Awards.
Storer was born in 1981 and grew up in Park Ridge, Illinois. It was here that he met Chris Zucchero, the owner of Mr. Beef, the sandwich shop which became the basis for The Bear. His sister Courtney is a professional chef who serves as a culinary supervisor on the series.
Storer rose to prominence with his collaborations with Bo Burnham - directing the comedy specials what. (2013) and Make Happy (2016), as well as serving as a producer on Burnham debut feature Eighth Grade (2018) - and Hasan Minhaj, on his comedy special Homecoming King (2017), which received a Peabody Award. Storer would then serve as a director and an executive producer on the comedy-drama series Ramy (2019–2020).
Storer is in a relationship with actress Gillian Jacobs, who guest starred in season two of The Bear.
