Douglas Scott Wreden (born January 18, 1991), better known by his online pseudonym DougDoug (formerly Gloudas), is an American YouTuber, Twitch streamer, and former Hearthstone caster and producer. He makes gaming videos that revolve around him doing various gaming challenges, often involving the use of artificial intelligence, modifications to games, or giving his Twitch chat heavy control of the game or stream. In 2023, he won the "League of Their Own" award at The Streamer Awards.

Career

Esports

Wreden worked for Electronic Arts as a programmer, before leaving to work on the Hearthstone Championship Tour for ESL under the online alias Gloudas. He then worked for esports organization Tempo Storm and was also a producer for the Hearthstone Trinity Series. In March 2018, he entered Hearthstone's "So you think you can cast?" competition.

Streaming

Wreden transitioned to being a Twitch streamer and YouTuber under the name DougDoug. He gained media attention in October 2020 after streaming Grand Theft Auto 5 on Twitch, where he allowed his viewers to input commands in the Twitch chat that affected the game. In January 2022, he garnered more media attention after streaming and completing a Super Mario Odyssey "HUD Challenge" speedrun, wherein compounding heads-up displays (HUDs) appeared on his screen after every five minutes. Although he completed the challenge, he was unable to complete it in under one hour, 11 minutes, and 21 seconds, his personal non-"HUD Challenge" best.

Charity

Wreden has hosted annual charity livestreams to raise money for the Monterey Bay Aquarium since the 20th birthday of a sea otter at the aquarium named Rosa. These streams have massively contributed to Rosa's popularity. Wreden and his Twitch chat raised $320.18 for Rosa's 20th birthday, $2,676.31 for her 21st birthday, and $14,172.92 for her 22nd birthday. During his 8 hour long stream celebrating Rosa's 23rd birthday, he and the livestream viewers raised over $104,326.89 for the aquarium. Wreden held two streams for Rosa’s 24th birthday. The first stream for Rosa's 24th birthday happened on August 24, 2023, with the second happening two days later on August 26. Wreden and his community raised over $85,000 in the first stream and over $215,000 during the second stream for a total of over $302,014.21. In total Wreden has raised $423,510.41 for Monterey Bay Aquarium.

Personal life

Wreden was born on January 18, 1991. He graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a degree in computer science. He formerly resided in the state of Washington but moved to Los Angeles, California in September 2023. Wreden is the brother of Davey Wreden, the designer of The Stanley Parable and director of The Beginner's Guide.
