Montmélian (French pronunciation: [mɔ̃meljɑ̃] ) is a commune in the Savoie department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region in south-eastern France. Montmélian station has rail connections to Grenoble, Modane, Bourg-Saint-Maurice and Chambéry.
Montmélian has a humid subtropical climate (Köppen climate classification Cfa) closely bordering on an oceanic climate (Cfb). The average annual temperature in Montmélian is 12.4 °C (54.3 °F). The average annual rainfall is 987.3 mm (38.87 in) with December as the wettest month. The temperatures are highest on average in July, at around 22.0 °C (71.6 °F), and lowest in January, at around 3.0 °C (37.4 °F).
