Proposed layout changes

Hello, I'd like to suggest the following changes to the layout of this template:

I can't see Garland mentioned anywhere on the DmC: Devil May Cry article, except in this navbox. Does anyone know what his credit on the game was be? I think it would look better if this were included parenthetically rather than in the group name, as I have with the other video game here. — Hugh (talk) 21:32, 22 March 2018 (UTC)

We don't do screenwriter navigation templates in regard to film. The video game connections don't seem noteworthy enough for inclusion. I would simply narrow the template to the novels he has written and the films he has directed. We can't cover all the non-primary contributions a person makes in media. I agree that his role in the video games doesn't meet the threshold, and that if we are to follow the guideline we should also remove the screenwriter credits. (Personally I'm surprised we don't include writing credits, but having read the discussion I suppose it could sprawl out of control.)
This would leave only five entries: three novels, and two films (as director). Is that enough to warrant a navbox? — Hugh (talk) 01:07, 23 March 2018 (UTC)
I think because we have these two sub-groups, yes. I've usually seen film director templates created when there are three films (since it becomes less likely that any one film article will mention the other two in passing). I suspect even if he never directed, a novel writer template would have sufficed anyway. Erik (talk | contrib) (ping me) 02:24, 23 March 2018 (UTC)
@Erik: Thanks;  Done. — Hugh (talk) 22:24, 25 March 2018 (UTC)
