Avant-garde?

Are some of these movements really considered avant-garde?

There should be verification for inclusion of links on the template. If the article on the topic doesn't show it is considered avant-garde, then it should be removed from the nav box. Fill in the edit summary (bar above "save page" button) to explain the rationale for removal of content. Ty 18:21, 28 January 2009 (UTC)

Anticon

The inclusive of anticon is ridiculous. It's an alternative hip hop label started in the late 90's. I'm going to remove it. MMBKG (talk) 01:49, 5 February 2010 (UTC)

Post-rock

Bar the title, does post-rock really belong here? --186.82.60.241 (talk) 19:07, 18 February 2011 (UTC)

Criteria for exclusion

What are the current criteria for inclusion on this list? Given the above discussion it seems that there is none. Thus I propose that a mention of the genre as avant-garde on the genre's article and preferably in a cited source be used as criteria. Thus I propose that if the item is not described as avant-garde anywhere in its article, and one wishes to do so, one may remove the item followed by posting a comment here regarding the removal according to this criteria (under a heading such as "Removed: Uncited"). Hyacinth (talk) 05:04, 8 June 2012 (UTC)

according to this criterion, the articles on Conceptual_art, Cubo-Futurism, Divisionism, Ego-Futurism, Fauvism, Impressionism, Neo-impressionism, Post-Impressionism, Color_Field, Minimalism_(visual_arts), Incoherents, Neue_Slowenische_Kunst, Vorticism should all be removed. I'm not sure if such a drastic change is OK.Michiel Duvekot 23:53, 20 November 2013 (UTC)

Removed:Uncited

I'm removing lyrical abstraction. There is nothing in Lyrical_abstraction that demonstrates that it should be considered avant-garde. Michiel Duvekot 23:22, 20 November 2013 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mduvekot (talkcontribs)

It like the rest of the inclusions was an avant-garde movement in European painting during the 1940s and 1950s as well as an avant-garde movement in American painting in the 1960s; and should be included as a true reflection of those periods...Modernist (talk) 13:16, 10 December 2013 (UTC)
