Merger and Modern eras

The 1970 season should be the start of the modern era, because it was the first year following the AFL-NFL merger. Therefore, the staduims which were last used for the NFL during the 1970 season--Franklin Field, Kezar Stadium, Harvard Stadium, Wrigley Field--should be moved to the modern era list.   • I can see 1970 being the first year of the modern era. However, the template still allows for a stadium to be represented in more than one era. For example Wrigley Field is used in the Early Era and the Merger Era. So Harvard Stadium should be moved to Modern Era, Wrigley added to Modern Era, but still represented in the Early and Merger Eras, Franklin Field added to Modern Era, but still represented in the Merger Era and Kezar Stadium added to Modern Era, but still represented in the Merger Era--Pennsylvania Penguin (talk) 17:41, 29 April 2013 (UTC)

I think that this should be a new article, titled: List of former NFL stadiums. Should it happen? Sportsfangnome (talk) 20:02, 27 July 2022 (UTC)

Whether or not it gets a separate list article (and I think that's a pretty good idea in fact), the title of this navbox should be changed regardless, as "defunct" is a poor choice as some of these structures are still standing. They may not host NFL games anymore, which does make them former NFL stadiums, but it would be news to be people of Chicago to tell them that Wrigley Field is defunct. oknazevad (talk) 15:01, 23 November 2022 (UTC)
