This page should not refer to "politics of the Palestinian National Authority", since it is the template for several movements who are not part of, do not recognize, or are even actively hostile to the Authority (such as Hamas and the PFLP). If it is considered controversial to use "Politics of Palestine" (in the nation-sense, not the independent state-sense), then may I suggest "Palestinian Politics" as a compromise? I do not understand why this template includes "State of Palestine." This is a reference to a 1988 declaration that did not actually create a State of Palestine, which does not exist. That "State" has no relationship with the Palestinian National Authority, which is what this template is about. Of course, the PNA would like its efforts to result in "A" State of Palestine, but the empty declaration of 1988 is not that "State." The UN has recognised the State of Palestine as the country's official name as of 2013.Hendrick 99 (talk) 07:04, 17 February 2013 (UTC)
I listed both Salam Fayyad and Ismail Haniyeh as Prime Ministers, since Hamas claims that Haniyeh's dismissal and Fayyad's appointment were illegal, and therefore Haniyeh is still PM (see e.g. ). I don't think Wikipedia should take sides in this controversy. -- uriber 18:07, 17 June 2007 (UTC)
Abdel Aziz Duwaik (assumed office on Jan. 9, 2009)?
Although legally he is to assume office in case the President does not call for elections within one year of the constitutional term, Duwaik never assumed office and was never recommended by the Legislative Counsel as the constitution states. In other words the presidency of Duwaik is merely a political opinion, with nothing related to any constitutional documents. He is infact the acting-president of the Palestinian Legislative Council, as he was never officially reinstated for a second term by the Legislative Counsel. I recommend that such details be edited, to avoid the politicization of the article entries and ensure Wikipedia qualities. --213.244.123.130 (talk) 05:57, 1 July 2009 (UTC)
This issue should be seriously considered as it carries a seriously debated issue. --Zakouma (talk) 06:04, 1 July 2009 (UTC)
I propose to move this template to Template:Politics of the State of Palestine.Greyshark09 (talk) 22:28, 5 January 2013 (UTC)
I changed the country name to Palestine (The common name) and the title to 'Palestinian National Authority' (the Politics of the Palestinian National Authority article has more info than the Politics of the Palestinian Territories disambiguation link. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hendrick 99 (talk • contribs) 06:51, 17 February 2013 (UTC)
I changed the title from Politics of the Palestinian National Authority to Politics of the State of Palestine (the more accurate and shorter name) after finding that both link to the same pageHendrick 99 (talk) 07:02, 17 February 2013 (UTC)
