VIBES SRI LANKAN LIVE BAND IN QATAR

VIBES is a Sri Lankan live band started in Doha, Qatar. Among Sri Lankan expats in Qatar, five professional musicians got together and started a band. All band members were experienced musicians, as they have played many gigs in Sri Lankan five-star hotels and famous nightclubs in Sri Lanka. They relocated to Qatar prior to their arrival. The band consists of four instrument players, one male vocalist, and two female vocalists. The VIBES Live band performed the first GIG as the pre-lounge concert in Treffen House Hotel in Qatar with the assistance of Mr. Kumudu Fonseka, who was the unofficial Sri Lankan ambassador to Qatar, as he has helped many Sri Lankans in Qatar over the past forty years. The vocalist and band leader, Roshan Buddhika, conceived the idea to start the band and Senaka Mendis is playing keys. Senaka Mendis started his music career at the age of sixteen after completing the Grade Six Trinity exams, performing as a lobby pianist at famous hotels in Sri Lanka while he was still in school. And later he joined a dance band called VINTAGE on keys under the management of the late Mr. Cumar Peris of Gypsies, where he started to perform in highlighted night spots in Colombo, Clancy’s, Cyclone, and the little hut in the Mount Lavinia Hotel. Later on, he also performed with the Golden Chimes, Breeze, and Faith dance bands until he started to tour the Maldives and Dubai with the Baywatch European band. Jerald Pietersz is the lead guitarist and vocalist with twenty-five-plus years of global stage experience who has multiple skills as a guitarist and a vocalist with the ability to blow the saxophone. Performed in multiple countries with Super Fortunes, Rajiv and the Clans, Chandimal Entertainment, Noel Raj with Members, and Saman and the Clans. Now, he performs with Vibes, bringing timeless sound and world-class energy to every show. Prageeth Niroshan is the drummer with over 30 years of experience in drumming and live stage performance across various genres & events. He began his career in school and live bands in Sri Lanka, and he also possesses skills in music composition, mixing, mastering, and live FOH sound engineering. Assan Thuan is the bass guitarist who started music as a hobby at the age of 14, and he is a multi-instrumentalist. He has started a music career as a professional bass guitarist with several bands called Fabulous, Sunshine, Ragama Red Diamond, Richmans, Bolero, etc. He moved to Qatar in 1998 and is presently taking part with fellow Indian, Bangladeshi, and Nepali bands in Qatar, having experience with backing the most famous singers of India and Sri Lanka who visited for music concerts in Qatar. Ishara Dilhani and Senara Wijekoon are the two female vocalists in the VIBES band.
