Norwegian participation in Junior Eurovision 2025 + ESC Spot reliability.
Hello @Happyhappy2014 👋🏻, I Hope are you well. I'm writing to you because I've noticed that the Norwegian broadcaster's announcement of non-participation in ESC Spot has not been picked up by other Eurofans media, and that ESC Spot's reliability has been called into question by some (including you). With this in mind, you've removed Norway from the list of countries confirming their non-participation, but then you'd also have to put back under Lithuania the information that the Norwegian broadcaster declared on January 07, 2024 that it was considering a potential return in 2025 (you can find the code in the history to put it back). 2A02:8440:F502:24BC:E067:C2C4:2789:E626 (talk) 09:08, 30 June 2025 (UTC)
Norway – On 7 January 2024, Norwegian broadcaster NRK stated that it was considering a return to the contest in 2025, with a national final to be held in such a scenario. Norway last took part in 2005.
The Wikipedia Eurovision templates are made to not need (country) after Georgia. That’s why I reverted your edits relating to that. Consider asking on the talk page of WP:Song Contests to learn more about these templates.
when related to Eurovision, it is widely known that it does not mean the state of Georgia in the United States. Ktkvtsh(talk)05:16, 12 October 2025 (UTC)
Also, the discussion started about the redirect hasn’t been closed yet. No one in Europe, where the contest is held, is confusing the State for the Country and the other way around I can guarantee. I believe it is disruptive to make these changes all over the place when it has been without (country) for years. Ktkvtsh(talk)05:20, 12 October 2025 (UTC)
Also, it’s not good practice to undo someone’s revert with another revert. Go to the users talk page who made the revert and ask for clarification first. I’d ask that you undo everywhere you added (country) behind Georgia for Eurovision and Junior Eurovision articles and bring this up on the WP:Song Contests talk page to see what others think. Ktkvtsh(talk)05:24, 12 October 2025 (UTC)
Understood. Just for information sake, there was nothing to fix. The Eurovision and Junior Eurovision articles are some of the most closely watched and updated. It would have already been there if needed. Hope you have a great day and don’t be afraid to bring up changes you think should be made on the talk page of the project mentioned above. Thanks for your work. Ktkvtsh(talk)05:35, 12 October 2025 (UTC)
Production vs Format
Hello, I have seen that – despite your edits being reverted many times – you are very adamant on creating a separate "Format" section, which features information about the presenters and postcards. However, I do not understand in the slightest what you're basing your belief on the fact such a division should exist on, as this quite literally is not applied on any page that has been edited to fully feature the modern page format (so JESC since 2023 and ESC since 2018).
What is your motivation behind this? Agwjkl (talk) 10:46, 7 December 2025 (UTC)
as you can see jesc 2016 has a seperate section for the roles and here also. You can read my edit summaries for the other ones that explain it.
also how is this "disruptive", disruptive is removing a lot of info and often adding useless info instead, and no one has had a pronlem with my edits Happyhappy2014 (talk) 11:02, 7 December 2025 (UTC)
The JESC 2016 page is not by any means a valid reference. It was never updated to reflect the format that was later established through consensus among many editors. I'm also unsure why trying to change several other elements of the page. Out of respect for the editors who participated in the detailed discussions that shaped the current formatting guidelines, I've acted accordingly while editing, meanwhile your recent changes disrupt that process without clear justification. Some of the edits appear to be based simply on what you personally think looks better, but that isn't a valid metric for determining how this page should be structured – you’re not the only editor with an opinion, which is exactly why discussions take place and consensus is reached before applying major formatting changes. Also, please make sure to tag me in your next response. Agwjkl (talk) 11:02, 7 December 2025 (UTC)
@Agwjkl if you would have mentioned this earlier then there would have been no confusion.
Yeah, I guess I have to agree here – I probably wasn't as clear and direct as I should have been earlier. Also, if it seemed like I had any sort of personal issue with you, I want to make it clear that I don't. For example, I've always felt that the 2024 page didn’t look great with sub-headings in the "Production and format" section, which you added. However, I recognise that the format you introduced is the one that has been broadly agreed upon, so I didn’t act on my personal desire of how the page should look because I didn’t want to disrupt the process of building the page according to the established consensus.
