Hello. I am currently editing the article "nociplastic pain" as part of a class. I just wanted some further clarity on why the examples of nociplastic pain were removed from the definition section? I know you said that better evidence is needed, but many of the article's references discuss the nociplastic pain components of the conditions that were given as examples, among them IBS and chronic headaches. I'm also confused on the condition "ME/CFS" you referenced in your comment-- I can see the similarities to nociplastic pain but it differs in its manifestations and pathophysiology. Thanks for your message @DepakoteDayDreamz. For starters, I agree that ME/CFS is distinct from nociplastic pain, and more importantly authoritative sources on ME/CFS do not characterize it as a central sensitization syndrome (the ME/CFS article just underwent featured status review, so you can find high-quality sources there), which is why I noticed and removed that sentence’s claim that “chronic fatigue syndrome” (an outdated name for ME/CFS) is such a disorder. Just the fact that those sources use that term is an indication it may not be an up-to-date source on all the other disorders it references. My suggestion would be to check with the authoritative reviews on the disorders in question and only add them back if those sources do validate that’s how they’re understood (and if yes, to be more precise about how exactly—for example, chronic headaches can certainly have organic causes, so even if leading headache literature agrees it can be sensitization, would need to make clear it’s not exclusively). Following a request for comment, there is a new policy outlining the granting of permissions to view the IP addresses of temporary accounts. Temporary account deployment on the English Wikipedia is currently scheduled for September 2025, and editors can request access to the permission ahead of time. Admins are encouraged to keep an eye on the request page; there will likely be a flood of editors requesting the permission when they realize they can no longer see IP addresses.
South Asia (WP:CT/SA) is designated a contentious topic. The topic area is specifically defined as All pages related to the region of South Asia (India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Nepal), broadly construed, including but not limited to history, politics, ethnicity, and social groups.
Wikimania 2025 is happening in Nairobi, Kenya, and online from August 6 to August 9. This year marks 20 years of Wikimania. Interested users can join the online event. Registration for the virtual event is free and will remain open throughout Wikimania. You can register here now.

Running from October 1 to 31, 2025, WikiProject Women in Green (WiG) is hosting a Good Article (GA) editathon event with the theme What Women Do! All experience levels welcome. Never worked on a GA project before? We'll teach you how to get started. Or maybe you're an old hand at GAs – we'd love to have you involved! Participants are invited to work on nominating and/or reviewing GA submissions related to women and women's works (e.g., books, films) during the event period. We hope to collectively cover article subjects from at least 31 different occupations or professions (or broader roles in society) by month's end. GA resources and one-on-one support will be provided by experienced GA editors, and participants will have the opportunity to earn a special WiG barnstar for their efforts.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

A lot has happened in the WikiProject over the last 11 months. Next year promises to continue that trend with Vital Signs 2026, a campaign to achieve our goal of having all our top-importance articles at B-class or above.
Asthma, HIV/AIDS and Meningitis are all in need of some tender love and care, with a median source date between 2008 and 2011. Many clinical guidelines note changes from earlier versions, so updating diagnosis and management sections may be doable even if you have less time on your hand.

In order to be granted adminship, a candidate who has not been recalled must have received at least 70.0% support, calculated as Support / (Support + Oppose), and must also have received a minimum of 20 support votes. A candidate that has been recalled must have at least 55.0% support. Because this is a vote and not a consensus, there are no bureaucrat discussions ("crat chats").
