Information icon Hello. Your recent edit to Springfield High School (Illinois) appears to have added the name of a non-notable entity to a list that normally includes only notable entries. In general, a person, organization or product added to a list should have a pre-existing article before being added to most lists. If you wish to create such an article, please first confirm that the subject qualifies for a separate, stand-alone article according to Wikipedia's notability guideline. Thank you. LeAnne Stuart Withrow moved to draftspace

An article you recently created, LeAnne Stuart Withrow, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Updates 10-06-20

@GPL93: Good morning! You mentioned in the notes that the article was "Heavily refbombed with unreliable sources, possible COI issues" - Does that mean that I over-cited? And can you help me understand which of my sources is unreliable so I can fix that for the future? This is my first whole article, so I want to get it right, thanks! Lucianraven (talk) 13:27, 6 October 2020 (UTC)

It means heavily sourced with non-reliable and non-notability substantiating sources. Notability is established through coverage about the subject via coverage that is about the source. Facebook, Amazon links and articles and press releases written by the subject do not help establish notability. After taking closer look at these sources I'm not really sure if any of the links used are reliable coverage. Best, GPL93 (talk) 13:33, 6 October 2020 (UTC)

LeAnne Stuart Withrow

Hello! I hope you don't mind two replies but I just wanted to give you a more personal reply about your editing and it felt more appropriate to do it here rather than on the article talk page...

Sometimes it's better to have something short with good citations and key details that make someone clearly important enough to feature in an encyclopedia rather than something longer that has to resort to less trustworthy sources, which might lead people to doubt whether they are really notable or actually mostly just like anyone else! Think of it as a start (which is a classification of article on Wikipedia) that can always be expanded as more is written about someone (you could even get the ball rolling on this by emailing to suggest to editors e.g. of magazines on military culture and history or of LGBTQ+ issues that they commission something on Withrow - that is just a suggestion of something I've been personally motivated to do when I'm shocked that there isn't more coverage of an interesting person or topic and I definitely don't expect that it's a next step for everyone!). I hope this is helpful feedback about how Wikipedia works and not too frustrating for you. You've clearly done lots of research and the page is very tidily formatted and clearly written - with just a bit more awareness of how sourcing etc works, those are qualities that makes for a great Wikipedian so I do hope you'll keep editing! Your submission at Articles for creation: LeAnne Stuart Withrow (July 22)

Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed! Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by MurielMary was:
This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of people). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.
Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit when they have been resolved.
