December 2025

@Mrgoodboss According to the constitution, when exactly does the term begin? Let's discuss that first. Preime TH (talk) 01:24, 18 December 2025 (UTC)

I heard on the news that President Pavel accepted Babish as PM on 15 December Mrgoodboss (talk) 01:37, 18 December 2025 (UTC)
That's a different matter. According to the constitution, he has been considered Prime Minister since December 9th, even though he officially began performing his duties on December 15th. Preime TH (talk) 05:05, 18 December 2025 (UTC)
He was appointed on December 9, and the Czech Constitution does not have the concept of 2 prime ministers, the outgoing PM is the acting PM. It's similar in every country. Mrgoodboss (talk) 15:50, 18 December 2025 (UTC)

@Mrgoodboss riting that Petr Fiala held the position from 28 November 2021 to 9 December 2025 would seem more reasonable because before 15 Decemberhe served as caretaker prime minister to prevent a power vacuum. This system is similar to Thailand's where even though Phumtham Wechayachai served as acting prime minister until 24 September 2025 (the cabinet sworn-in date) as soon as Anutin Charnvirakul received the royal decree appointed him as prime minister Phumtham's status as acting ended on 7 September 2025. Preime TH (talk) 16:15, 18 December 2025 (UTC)

Petr Fiala had "Assumed office 17 December 2021" for years. You're in fact going against the consensus... Mrgoodboss (talk) 16:47, 18 December 2025 (UTC)
@Mrgoodboss We must distinguish between jurisprudence and political science. For example in Thailand the case of Prayut Chan-o-cha: according to the Constitution he was ended from office on 5 September 2023 the date the Srettha cabinet was sworn in. However, from a political science perspective the moment the Royal Decree appointed Srettha Thavisin as Prime Minister was issued, Prayut status as Prime Minister ended immediately.
