Vairankode Temple was constructed by Azhvanchery Thamprakkal about 1500 years ago. It's believed that the sister of Kodungallur Bhagavathy crossed the Bharathappuzha river and reached Azhvanchery mana and they placed Bhagavathy at Vairankode.
