A WikiOctopus is a wiki user who's got their fingers tentacles in many pies. For example, they might run a bot, maintain a newsletter, help newcomers at the helpdesk, code templates, organize edit-a-thons, coordinate one (or more) wikiprojects, sit on or clerk for ARBCOM, be an ADMIN, fight sockpuppets via WP:CHECKUSER, write user scripts... all at once.

While there WikiOctopus are themselves extremely rare, because they are so prolific and involved, encountering one is fairly common. WikiOctopus are gentle by nature, and get along with most of the Wikifauna, WikiElves in particular. An exception is the WikiTrolls, who are often blocked on sight by a WikiOctopus with admin powers, or alternatively by tapping a tentacle on a WikiGoon's shoulder to point them towards the WikiTroll.

All WikiOctopus have large heads, but most use it to store vast amounts of WikiKnowledge, rather than inflated egos.

Despite their many noodly appendages, WikiOctopuses have no known genetic link to the Flying Spaghetti Monster.
