The 2024 Cricket Picture of the Year is the inaugural edition of the Cricket Picture of the Year, an annual competition organized by the Cricket WikiProject where project members are invited to submit cricket-related photographs. These will then be judged by members of the cricket project, who will vote to decide the winners. The winning photograph, along with the top 12 photos will be featured in the project newsletter's latest issue, The Stump Sapient – Issue I.

Image eligibility criteria

• Image must have accurate licence information and be available in Commons; NFCC files won't be accepted.
• Image must be related to a Cricket event / player / organization etc.

Competition stages

1. Nomination period: Users are welcome to submit their nominations for the "Cricket Picture of the Year" – 15 to 31 October 2024.
2. Voting round 1: Nominations will be open for public voting to choose the top 12 images.
3. Voting round 2: Top 12 images will be open for another round of public voting to choose the winners.

Prizes

• A barnstar will be presented to the top 12 candidates and their nominators.
• Special Gold, Silver and Bronze barnstars will be presented to the top 3 winners along with a file assessment as well.
• Top 12 images will be featured on the project newsletter with the winners being highlighted.
