The current state of articles about firefighting in china is absolutely horrific, if someone could help out that would be apprieciated Thehistorianisaac (talk) 03:57, 13 June 2025 (UTC)

@Thehistorianisaac: Thanks for bringing this to my attention! It looks like some much-needed work is already being completed, but if further work is needed on an article in particular please let me know and I'll see what I can contribute. Cheers! Johnson524 01:41, 26 June 2025 (UTC)
Thanks! I plan on making articles on individual chinese fire departments(e.g. Beijing Fire and Rescue or Guangdong Provincial Fire and Rescue Department) in the near future. Thehistorianisaac (talk) 12:29, 26 June 2025 (UTC)

Geography of Firefighting

The quality of the page geography of firefighting isn't great: it's missing many large nations, contains outdated information, and is completely unreferenced in many sections. This feels like quite an important article which ties in to a lot of others for the respective countries, and so should probably be on our radar for improvement. I'm happy to begin making some edits and trying to find more sources, but it's a pretty big and important article, so I think having the eyes of a more experienced editor on it would be appreciated.

(also, plenty of countries could do with a "Firefighting in X" page, especially those with significant variation in department types and structures) Dan :] (talk) 13:14, 23 July 2025 (UTC)

@NZandUKstuff: I'll give the page a look later today, thanks for bringing it to my attention! 🙂 In the meantime for your 'Firefighting in ' request, if you have any nations you were thinking of that need an article like this in particular, you should add it to Wikipedia:WikiProject Firefighting#Requested articles in case someone wants to take up the project. Thank you for your contributions to the WikiProject, and cheers from North Carolina! Johnson524 22:31, 24 July 2025 (UTC)

Naming convention for Firefighting in X articles

Hello, could do with some input on this one. So for creating country-level overview articles on firefighting, I've been going with the naming convention of "Firefighting in X" (where X is the country name) to match articles such as those for the US, Belgium, Finland, and Antarctica. However, there are articles which don't follow this convention, such as Fire services in France, German Fire Services, Fire services in South Korea, and Fire services in the United Kingdom.

So far, I've just created redirects for these in the style to try and keep things WP:CONSISTENT, but I'm wondering whether they should be moved to bring their names in line with the pattern; on the other hand, I can see a case for keeping them as Fire services in X if that's the predominant term for them in that nation, as it is in the UK and France. I don't think it's clear-cut, so I'd appreciate some input on this one, cheers :]

(tho im definitely changing German Fire Services to either Fire services in Germany or Firefighting in Germany, that name is weird, not a natural search term, and violates bold criteria) Dan :] (talk) 16:28, 22 December 2025 (UTC)

I would say that it would be best to keep names consistent unless the articles for the respective countries focus on significantly different topics (such as the fire agencies, history, or practices), or possibly if there is a dominant term used within an English speaking country that doesn’t conform to overall consensus.
