ArbCom 2025 Elections voter message

Hello! Voting in the 2025 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 1 December 2025. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2025 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:33, 18 November 2025 (UTC)

Extra set of eyes please

Myself and another editor have concerns about inappropriate comments made about a BLP, where an editor has twice implied on the article's talk page that the subject has down syndrome based on their personal observation, here and here, and then doubled down on their claim on their talk page here. An inquiry about Revdel was made on my talk page here, so just asking for an extra set of eyes and your opinion. Thanks.— Isaidnoway (talk) 22:13, 21 November 2025 (UTC)

Technical news

  • Starting on November 4, the IP addresses of logged-out editors are no longer being publicly displayed. Instead, they will have a temporary account associated with their edits.
  • Administrators will now find that Special:MergeHistory is now significantly more flexible about what it can merge. It can now merge sections taken from the middle of the history of the source (rather than only the start) and insert revisions anywhere in the history of the destination page (rather than only the start). Edit War rumblings at Runit Debbarma article

Hello Ad Orientem! I hope you & yours are well! In my travels fixing script errors I encountered the Runit Debbarma article. It has been nominated for deletion (discussion here) but unfortunately the editor who created the article, Brendonmotom, is resorting to constantly removing the deletion tags despite many warnings on their talk page. I even posted a polite message hoping to talk them round to discussing rather than edit warring but seemingly to no avail. Might need someone with more authority, like yourself, to nip things in the bud before an editor over there goes too far. Thanks if you are able to help! Hello Ad Orientem! Never mind! The editor has been blocked from editing the article for a couple of weeks after a report at Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism. Oh well, I did try to warn them. Take care, LooksGreatInATurtleNeck (talk) 15:17, 14 December 2025 (UTC)
Good to hear everything is under control. -Ad Orientem (talk) 15:51, 14 December 2025 (UTC)
